Is there a way to take off the the main search on a skin? Or can I only have the main search one certain page on my site?

Thanks,

Mike

you can remove the skinobject from a copy of the skin you use and apply it to appropriate pages only or use it in general and add the search input module where desired.

Ok, I found skin object. Can I just delete it? Will this cause problems if i do just delete it? I found it here:

Module: [skin objects]

key: search

Source: admin/skins/search.ascx

Is this the correct search I want to delete because I do have search on a form I use. If I do delete it will it affect the search I use on the form.

Thanks again.

Mike

Mike,

NO! Do not delete the skin object registration in the database, but edit your skin (/portals/skins/<skinfolder>/<skinname>.aspx) and remove the "<dnn:search ...>" tag from the file. Don't forget to make a backup of that file first.
