I have a DNN 3.3.7 website. I am not trying to optimize performance as much as humanly possible. I use WebHost4Life as my host. I did have Blowery's HTTP Compression in place but it was causing problems with some of my other modules so I had to remove it.

My question is this?:

Apart from optimizing graphic images on the site, what are the best ways to optimize performance? Is there another compression utility that might work better than blowery? I currently use KeepAlive module.... Is there something better? I have also hear about minimizing viewstate.... What is everyone's best tips for optimizing performance? Be specific? I am sure everyone would like to gain some knowledge on this.

I have the same problem. While building my site I wasn't concerned about the load performance. Now that I am wanting to deploy it is my only concern. In DNN 1.13 the pages load in less than 3 seconds. Using DNN 3.3.7 the first load takes between 50 sec (for a virgin do nothing accept as is release) to 78 sec when all the additional modules are added. The blowery approach doesn't sem to work well with streaming video and flash. At this point (and I have read all the blogs) it appears that DNN has become useless in its released form. No one will ever wait to see one of my pages. I need real help, step by step on how to fix DNN releases so they can be used in the real world. I liked the Snapsis idea but all my users must login. I have also rewitten all the html and css files to optimize them. At first I thought it was my development machine but after moving to a private server with th exact same results I am no longer convinced of that.
