Hi

I opened my DotNetNuke webpage in a browser, and then went to View Source. Then I saved the resultant html, and ran it through a validator to check for errors. They are all over the place. Trouble is, I can only see tiny bits of this resulting code in my source files. Apart from default.aspx, where does all the rest of the information come from. Is there a logic flow for this anywhere?

Stapes

Check the ascx of the skin you are using, and the source of any modules you may have on the page.  That should give you a starting point.

Truth is that you cannot trace the source that easily.

HTML is rendered by:

  1. Default.aspx
  2. The skins ascx
  3. The containers ascx
  4. The modules ascx and binary (html can be rendered at run time in code)
  5. The Web controls
  6. The ascx found in the Admin folder
  7. And on and on...

It is going to be quite a challenge.

If I may ask, what are you trying to do?
