Hello,

I have been searching on the forums for a while. I have been reading documents and stuff. But now i'm getting the hang of it a bit, tryed to debug using visual studio and been modificating but i'm getting stuck. I could try to reinstall and drop the database but that way i'll probl. end up with the same problem.

My problem:

I downloaded the 4.4 "Starter Kit" (because i want to make my own modules) and created a new website using the dotnetnuke template. First i added a new connection string to connect to my webhost sql2005 server and then i pressed F5 to start debugging. The installation started and some moment later the dotnetnuke site was running fine on my localhost :)

Second i did was deploying it to my webhost using FTP. I browsed to my webhost url i got a message that the site is trying to connect to local intranet 'localhost'. That is because the configuration is wrong somewhere. I've been searching for hours in code, tryed changing stuff . The most successfull change was on the database in the table 'Portalalias' (not a field in table 'Portals' !?) That field doesn't even exists!

I tryed alot of values, the direct url to my site for example.. doesnt work

Is there more to be changed or am i using a wrong value?

Are you sure you setup the connection string properly initially. By default DNN will use SQL2k5 express as a local DB.

i dropped the entire solution and database user dbo cascade

i created a new project and builded it with CTRL-F5 and right away i deployed it to the webserver. I did set up a virtual directory to it and this is what i get now

http://www.pcbedrijf.nl/

http://www.pcbedrijf.nl/DotNetNuke/Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Could+not+find+a+part+of+the+path+'D%3a%5csites%5cvhosts%5cpcbedrijf.nl%5chttpdocs%5cDNN%5cApp_GlobalResources%5cLocales.xml'.&content=0

I tryed to upload App_GlobalResourced but then an error appears: 'app_globalresources not allowed on a precompiled application'

Any ideas? plz, i did spend another 4 hours and i'm  getting frustrated of dotnetnuke atm :(
