Is it possible to disable search indexer on some modules (HTML/TXT) so they dont show up in results?

I ve tried setting IsDeleted=1 on modules and then running the indexer and then setting IsDeleted back to 0, but I still get those modules in search results.

It seems like there should be an easy way to do this, it would be a great feature. Here are some workarounds you can try…

Customized Module Definition:
Install a second copy of the Html/Text module but disable support for ISearchable. You could call it Html/Text (w/o) search for example. If you omit the businesscontrollerclass from the module definition, search will be disabled. Unfortunately you’d also lose IPortable.

Customized Business Controller Class:
You could replace the businesscontrollerclass for the module with a custom version that could conditionally enable/disable search for the module.

Modify DNN Core (just a little)
I haven’t tried this, but it should work…
You could modify the stored procedure GetSearchModules to filter out modules with a custom module setting, say DisableSearch=True. Then you could add that module setting to any module you want excluded from the search.

you can use free USearchModules from Eck Two, to specify the modules to be included in your search as well as to include header and footer text.
