I tried all the solutions carried to me by this forum and it did not work out.
Maybe there are to much variables involved such as, different containers, different modules, not an default dnn skin (the skin I use now is xdnngray from http://www.xd.com.au/ ) etc.
It is strange that only in the content pane containers structuring to the full width.
I found this solution.
In the text of the announcement I inserted an horizontal line with the width of the available width in the left pane.
This way I can force the container to desired width.
Thanks for the answers.
With regards, Ton Hermes

Hello Ton
Glad you found a solution but it's more of a hack I think.
It's strange... I tried my solution on a saved copy of your website and it did work.
Did you set the width to 240px in skin.css?
I want to find out why it didn't work if you don't mind....
(If you are willing to discuss this again since you "solved" your problem).

Hi Timo,

I was a little bit afraid to mess with the skin css.
Thats the reason I did not tried the suggestion you made.
When you wrote in your last message you had worked it out on your server I got some courage.
I made a backup of the site and changed the skin.css
The leftpane is set to 240px.
Thats all I needed to do !!!!!!
Now the site looks really cool.
Many thanks for your input.

With regards, Ton Hermes
