Hi

I learned from John Mitchell that you can display the name of the current tab in a skin file by using <%= PortalSettings.ActiveTab.TabName %>. My question is: what's the code to display the name of the current tab's parent (assuming it's not placed on a root page)?

Thanks!

Hello SamTanner,

myTabController = new TabController();
myTabInfo = new TabInfo();
myTabParentInfo = new TabInfo();
myTabInfo = myTabController.GetTab(this.TabId);
myTabParentInfo = myTabController.GetTab(monTabInfo.ParentId);

You then have all the parent information in the myTabParentInfo variable.

Thank you, Olivier, but I was hoping for a line of .ascx code (based on PortalSettings) that I could slide into a skin file. It needs to be part of the snin.ascx, so how would I go about writing this in <script runat="server"></script> form?

Anyone?

John, thank you very much for this info, it's exactly what I was looking for... I keep up with your blog, but didn't know you had support forums as well!

Edit: added links
