I am new to DNN but have read the Skinning Guide as well as Professional DotNetNuke 4.  I have successfully installed DNN 4.4.1 and want to create a new skin.

Both reference sources state that the skin.htm file is the primary file for layout of a skin. Both recommend that the user open a skin included in the DNN package and use the files as a starting point for development of a new skin.

OK, this makes sense to me.  I see on page 9 of the DNN Skinning Guide a graphic of the skin folders that includes a skin.htm file (although the descriptive text is obscured by the graphic.)  However, when I look in the folders of my installed DNN website under Portals\_default\Skins\DNN-Blue, I see only a skin.css and a skin.xml file - no skin.htm.  All of the other skin components seem to be present, except for the file that actually lays out the skin itself.

Am I looking in the wrong place?  Has something changed with the release of 4.4.1?

Thanks

The actual skin files in that package are labelled .ASCX you can edit those files to modify your skins.

I'd recommend copying them to a new skins folder and working with them there though, rather than editing the default skins, in case you break them.
