I would place the images in a module folder and reference them all there.

If I just want to deliver a skin, there would be no module to install.  But it appears that graphics in skin/container directories do not show up in drop-down lists of image files to make use of, so maybe it would be best to add them to a "module" directory anyway.

I was going by your first post in this thread where you also mentioned sharing with installed modules.

You could put all your images in a Shared skin folder and use the same approach though.

I think there might be an easier solution:

Put the files in the portal folder and use:
<img src="<%=PortalSettings.HomeDirectory%>images/myimage.gif">
In you skin / container.

This will render:
<img src="portals/X/images/myimage.gif">
Where X = the portal number

Now the admin can change the images you referenced.

That's a good one Tim.

It's not something that can be "installed" but much more direct and allowing them access to their image folder is a great bonus.

Timo,

How then would you reference images from the .css file?
