While I am not new to CSS or HTML, I am very much a newbie to DNN (using 4.4.1). To get my feet wet with DNN, I would like to duplicate the blue, fixed width example skin from the DNN install (DNN-Blue) and make modifications to it (tableless layout, colors, some layout).  Is there an easy way to do this? I am very confused by all of the css files buried within the directories. For example:
C:\dotnetnuke\Website\Portals\0\portal.css
C:\dotnetnuke\Website\Portals\_default\default.css
C:\dotnetnuke\Website\Portals\_default\portal.css
C:\dotnetnuke\Website\Portals\_default\Skins\DNN-Blue\skin.css

Which do I duplicate to modify? I have had off and on luck with certain files but feel as if I need to get organized and do it right.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

skin.css is the css file associated with the default skin, if you want to make modifications, copy folder
C:\dotnetnuke\Website\Portals\_default\Skins\DNN-Blue
to
C:\dotnetnuke\Website\Portals\_default\Skins\DNN-Mod
and change what you like. If you need to change the skin itself, you should modify the .html file (with skin objects' attribus in the associated .xml file) and reparse the skin from inside host :: Skins menu item.

please have a look into the skinning guide, that is part of the documentation pack available at the download page for further information.
