Is there anyway to have 2 solpartmenus both sitting at different ContentPane? One is to displaying root menus and the other one is to displaying the submenus of the root menu.

The problem now is the website is used for a hospital management system and currently there are too many submenu links. The client requires the content to be displayed into tree format rather than dropdownmenu as it might be a little bit problem in pointing to the submenus as there are too many items in the dropdownmenu.

Given that they only have 1 level depth of child menu, and root menu items have to be clearly visible to user at all time. They don’t want part of root menu items to get push down when a root menu is selected. However,  they want the sub menus to be displayed at different container.

Any help would be appreciated!

We use RadMenu from telerik and I t can do this out of the box using the ShowOnlyCurrent("TABID") attribute. Check out www.varealtor.org for and example (this actually uses RadPanelBar but they work the same. The first 2 levels are on the left hand menu and any additional levels are on the right on the inside pages.

Looks good Mcunn

It was couple of years ago I tried Telerik and it was not so good. No support either so I never went that way. I assume it works much better now with latest DNN.

I've had great luck with Telerik, though I must admit I haven't had the need to use their support. So with that caveat, I think it's hands-down the best menu available for DNN. You might give it another shot.

That said, I have an alternate reccomendation if your desired result is to display in a tree format. Try giving the ASP2MenuNavigationProvider a look. Out of the box, it probably won't function as you need, but all you need to do is subclass the provider, override the Initialize (and possibly Bind) functions to behave as you need, and then use THAT derived provider for your menu display. Obviously, you'll need to register this derived provider in your web.config and reference it in your skin ascx.

This is a resonably advanced solution, so if the above didn't make any sense, you might just want to find another route. Good luck!

The use of the telerik panelbar on varealtor.org is a pretty solid-lookin implementation. Does Telerik offer a navigation provider for that solution, or did you just add the control directly to the skin?
