Hello,

I have two container skins, one for the "Portal Container" and one for the "Admin Container". I apply the containers and everything works fine, but from time to time all the containers in the site revert to showing the Admin Container instead of the Portal Container I have assigned. I can fix the problem by going to the Site Settings tab and just pressing the Update button.

Is this a known bug? Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ethan

I have not come accross this issue. However you can check here to see and if not found then you can report it.

Is this problem happening locally or in a shared hosting environment?

The reason I ask is that I ran into the most frustrating problem a couple weeks ago where some of my content, everything from text to containers to images, seemed to randomly revert to previous versions of that content.

For example, I'd apply a container to a module, refresh the screen, and the new container would appear as intended. However, if I refreshed the screen a few more times, it would revert back to the previous container. Every time I refreshed the screen, it would seemingly display some older version of the content, seemingly at random.

Anyhow, the point is that it was related to something called a "Web garden" (this is where I imagine Netscape-4.7-compatible carrots and CSS-driven potatoes are grown) and the number of maximum number of worker processes assigned to said Web garden. I had to contact my hosting provider to have them "remove" me from the "Web garden" I was apparently "in".

So, if you're using a shared hosting environment, it may be worthwhile (if indeed your problem is similar to mine) to look into this. The problem is described by John Mitchell in this blog posting:
