Hi,

For our website we have our main company logo at the top and some semi logo/banner beneath it which is as wide as the site is. This second logo differs on many pages. We have 4 so far and this might change in the near future. This means I can't use the dnnLogo thing because it is per site configuration. Is there a module that I can use to make this configurable? To see what I mean please look at www.pecoma.nl. This is not a DotNetNuke site now.

I don't want to create multiple skin aspx pages just because the only thing that is different is the logo. This needs to be configurable.

What I did now is create a bannerpane of 890x150 in that exact location and add a Text/HTML module which doesn't show the container. I added some html in it with an img tag that fits exactly in that location. When you are logged out that works perfectly but when you are logged in this looks horrible and makes administration a pain because the container then shows and makes the whole thing larger then 890x150 which destroys the entire top of the page.

Is there a way to make this configurable and also make it play nice in admin mode or do I have to build something myself? I'm looking for something like the ddnLogo that is configurable per page and can maybe be used multiple times. I guess this can't be a module then since it will always display a container in Admin mode and so I can't use a pane either.

Maybe something like the dnnLogo thing that is configurable through a module that you can put in a pane on the page which then only shows when you are an admin.

Does something like that exist and is it technically possible.

Hi,

I have 2 suggestions, and you may not like either!

1) Make your graphics smaller, and make your table background color the same as the image background color.  It looks like you could do that with the images on the 1st and 2nd tab, but the image on the 3rd tab would need modified a bit.

2) Make each photo a css background image, things should not overflow, just cut-off in admin mode.

something like:

<div class="photo1" width="100%">

</div>

.photo1
{
    background: url(images/photo1.jpg) no-repeat;
}

Good Luck!

Mike

I'm not the site maintainer or builder or anything. I'm just trying to figure out what I have to do to get the same result in DotNetNuke.  At the moment I get the idea that unless some consessions are made on the current design DotNetNuke is not going to play nice and I either have to build some custom stuff like a new dnnLogo thing and some modules or advise to keep the HTML site.

The start page for instance is also different from the rest. It has a bar with 4 pictures shortcutting to pages in the rest of the site. If I put this in the skin I have to either know the names of those pages upfront or change the skin afterwards after it is uploaded to DotNetNuke(but if I have to do that I could just as easily keep the HTML site which exists now. The idea is to get rid of html hacking). I can also use the Text/HTML module hack again which look like crap in Admin mode but this is then basically the same as keeping the HTML site or build a custom thing which is going to take a long time.

There are also some elements on the site that require a Text/HTML module just to get the same result but if I have to put html in a module then what is different from now having an HTML website.
