Pardon me if this has been answered. I've searched the forums and looked at the skin guide in the documentation and am still a bit hazy as it's my second day using this program. Awesome stuff BTW.

I am wondering if I can create a skin using CSS divs instead of tables. I assume so since the guide says it's only HTML. If so does anyone have any pointers or tips? Thanks for any advice you could provide.

Yess, you can create a skin using only CSS Divs but....

I have spend many, many hours trying to create skins using inly CSS divs, and have found it to be extremly difficult for a whole number of reasons.  Primarily it is because of the inconsistancies in the way different browsers interpret CSS properties,  Also a content management systems needs to have a lot of flexibility, as you cannot predict how much content any one page will occupy..  I finally gave up and now create my skins with a combination of Tables and CSS, which seems to work much better.   If you look at the commercial skins available on Snowcovered virtualy all of them are created using tables, and tables within tables.  At some point on the near future, I will post a few skins for downloading that are made with  both CSS and tables.

Thank you for all the great input.

Again not to sound like a complete idiot, but as you both know there is more than one way to do something. right now I am trying to recreate my site www.mainstreetrealtors.com. It was designed mainly in CSS. In the original design there are basically two divs, one at about 20% that holds the "features". The bigger div has a background image and another div inside of that which houses a link. I guess the question is what is the best way to approach this site? I am concerned with "features" section and assume that I'll have to somehow design a container to handle this. Also is it possible one "Pane inside of another like in CSS? Am I approaching this all wrong?

Again thanks for all the help.

Congratulation,
I like your site
www.mainstreetrealtors.com

For my interest, where do you get the inspiration for that design?

Greetings from Einbeck (Germany)
Bernd
