Nina - Thanks in advance for your help. Having the help of someone with a good eye is always a good thing. :)

Martin - Cool; let's do that then. :) You want to do the initial setup? Or should I?

As for the LUA - it's really not that bad. I had found an old .NET v1.1 LUA parser that would parse the file and allow you to walk the structure as tables and variables. I've been using that for reading and generating LUA files for my guild roster module. I had also written a thick-client Windows app that could parse the GEM LUA into objects that could be used in a data grid (or wherever, really) - and I think this is just an extension of that...writing from a web UI or web service. On the file side, you can set a file watcher in .NET that causes an event to fire whenever the file is updated -- this would mean that a thick-client 'monitoring service' would run on the client and be notified when the file changes, then call the web service to synch the changes. The other option is the user can launch the 'synch app'.

The only real issue with this, from my digging about on the GEM site, is that GEM only flushes their data into the LUA file when the user logs out...I assume this is Blizzard's way of enforcing their ToS of no outside interaction apps in the game or interception of game data.

But those are my thoughts - does that help?...I know Logan had some of his own, and I think he's been playing with the GEM side over the past few weeks...and I'll leave it to him to detail where he's taken it.

Also, if you are interested in the LUA Interface assembly - let me know and I can send you a link to it...or link it here.

I just released version 2 of the tribute skin.

This skin has a lot more depth and doesn't make the site feel cramped....

I will soon release some more containers for that skin, but I REALLY need to brag about it NOW, since I'm very proud of it...:-)

If interested, you can download the skin from www.martinmoesby.com

Martin, I think there's trouble with your SMTP. I tried registering 2 times but none sent me the verification letter. Can you authorize me? My email is lehoangduc1990 [at] gmail.com

Very decent work, by the way. I'm an avid Warcraft fan (but not exactly WoW), so this skin does thrill me

Looking really good martin just tested the 2.0 version and looking sweet. Only one thing not keep on is the fixed widths on the placements as more would be better and also not fixed widths.

Was searching round a few places and found http://litewow.org/ Which has a nice layout and menu. Am sure is php and not sure how hard to convert over.

I found the source at http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=95e084ee738635327172638919447f8bea0374f522a5f5a0 if you fancy a poke around as also i think is some lua in also for displaying stats.

Keep up the good work.

MK

Yeah, I found out, buit I can for the love of...(whoever loves you) cannot figure out, if I can set that filter, and if so, WHERE to sdet it..?

I seem to remember having read something about a filter on user email, but I simply cannot remeber wher or how? Can ANYBODY help me?

For testpurposes I reated a GMail account, and using that email, i registered on the website. Then I took one of my regular email adresses and used that for a registration.
I got the mail to my regular email, but NOT on hte GMail.

Does ANYONE have any idea on where I can see, what I've done wrong ?

Ohh, and BTW, you have been authorized...:-) Like the other pore fellas, that didn't get their verification code...

MK, Thx for the kind words..

That skin on litewow.org does seem a bit out of  my league.
I'm sure I can make the skin much like that one, but the menu-part, im not so sure of, since I dont know the SOLPARTMENU.ASCX very well...

I'm waiting for 2 books to arrive (Pro DotNetNuke 4.0 and DotNetNuke Portals ...something...) Hopefully I can get some much needed answers on the SOLPARTMENU, that will allow me to change the menu to a more grafical design...

I'm currently expanding  the skin into a Premium skin with more Layouts, more panes and more designs. I think I'll end up with around 4 or 5 different skins and around 10 containers....I will let yo uknow when they're done, or you can check the website from time to time.
