Which free skin did you install?

Nothing is permanent, but it would appear that the free skin may have been installed into a common directory.

What is the structure of you folders inside of your "Skins" folder?

You could also try <CTRL>-<F5> to force a screen refresh. Your internet cache may be showing the wrong background if the image name was the same.

may i also note that i refreshed the browser, in fact i have had this problem for a few weeks now (since i installed the free skin) im not sure what the skin is called, but it is called 'portal' in the 'skins' section and then in the drop down menu of skins there is the selection of 'skins'.

ok fixed the problem, it seems that the problem was the fact that when i installed the skins they where all put in the same folder so that the different skins where using files from the other skins.

So to fix the problem i installed each skin manually (instead of using DNN inbuilt skin installed) by creating a subfolder and placing each skins files into each folder,

thank you for your posting that told me to check the folders, it has helped me to solve problem!!!!!!!
