Hello,

I have created a custom skin (can be seen here www.spottedfox.com ) and the width is all messed up.  I have it setup to take up 75% of the view, which functions correctly when I have a module in the content area and SO NOT have any modules in the left or right pane. As soon as I add a module to either of the sides it greatly changes the view so it takes up about 110% percent of the page, regardless of the size of the module I add to the side pane.  The odd thing is if I log in as admin it snaps back to the 75%, even with a modlue in the left or right side, but it goes crazy again if I add a module on BOTH the right and left.  Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

This is currently setup using tables, I've heard that setting up the skin using css is faster for load times, can anyone confirm this?  If so can you point me to some good documentation on how to setup a skin using css?

Any and all comments welcome!!!

Mostly these kind of problems are caused by  combining TDs with fixed with a TD set to 100%.

You have this in both header and contentpart. It will grow the TR above 100%.

Timo,

Great thanks, that fixed the width issue but now it is causing another issue.  When the cell is not set to 100% then that cell doesn't expand and we are seeing gaps in our header.  What is the best way to resolve this issue if we are not able to set the cell to 100%?

Basically we are looking for a header that will expand to 75% of the screen size, and obviously when we use the 100% option listed above we get the issue we asked you about.  Any pointers for a dynamically sizing header?

Thanks again,

Dan
