i finish my web application but when i published it on the server i got a problem it is been a week now and i still cannot solve it here is the problem.

when i type my site's url in the http://localhost/compile/login.aspx i got this error:

Server Error in '/' Application.

The resource cannot be found.

Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /compile/login.aspx

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.832; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.832

here what i have done:

after  i have published the application i got to iss v5.1 ,by the way i am using asp.net 2.0 and VS 2005, i created a virtual directory i named the alias website1 and mapped it to the dirctory that i created when i published my web site by the way i am  a bigginner but please help coz my job is depending on it amd one more thing here is my e-mail if anybody knows the answer if he please send it to me or type it here (ousamamajeed@hotmail.com)

Ooz,

With a default instance of DotNetNuke you do not get a login.aspx file in the root. Is this something that you created and intended to place in the root directory? You may just want to try navigating to http://localhost/compile or http://localhost/compile/default.aspx to get to your web site.
