Hi

I have spent some time creating an XTML complient skin for DNN 04.08.00.  During this process I had to alter and change various DNN files and modules.

I have created a file which contains all the replacement files required for people trying to create or use XHTML complient skins.

There is also full instuctions contained within this file just download, uncompress and read the 'Instructions.txt' file.

NOTE : I have only tested this in DNN 04.08.00 there is a full rundown of what was changed though.

Very cool William. I took a look through what you've changed and I can't help but notice that while there are a number of modifications, they seem to be somewhat trivial.  Do we know the plans for integrating these kinds of changes into the core? It seems like you could run through and make these changes pretty quickly - maybe testing backwards compatability is the issue - might it break old skins? Nice resource though, just hope this type of thing gets integrated into the core sooner than later (and maybe its already in the works...who knows?)

Take care,

Ian

We're continually making xhtml updates to the core. I have a mail in with the lead dev for the webcontrols and webutilty projects to see if we can get the script references updated. In addition for 4.8.1 there are a number of xhtml updates to both code and css files.

Please note I don't think your tabindex change is correct as that attribute is still allowed in xhtml 1.0 (see http://webdesign.about.com/od/htmltags/p/blattabindex.htm)

Please log any further suggestions in the public issuetracker @ http://support.dotnetnuke.com/project/Project.aspx?PROJID=23 as items posted in the forums often get overlooked.

Hi

I passed all this info onto support at the same time I posted this.  As for what I changed it was just anything that failed the validator.w3.org test with my new DNN css framework I have created. I hav'nt looked into it any deeper than that. The problem is that validator.w3.org is the benchmark even if technically they could be wrong. Some of the standards are so subjective even the browser writers cant agree on them. It is a difficult problem to bypass.  My reasoning is that if 'validator.w3.org' fails a page then it has failed and has to be removed as this is what the customer will be testing with.

I have just tested the tabindex with a simple stand alone aspx page and it passed  I  dont know why it failed originally maybe it was the <br> confusing  wc3 ?????????
