You are right. However, how bout on the layer 5 ??? If I just use parent,  Layer five will just show layer 4. I also need layer 3 and 2.  Actually, all I need just make the menu act like level = root but not showing root. I attached another picture for more easy reference.

This will not work. The layer 5 will just show layer 4,  What I want is the menu show from layer two. Below is a better picture to show what I mean.

You will need to do some hardcoding to modify the parent tabid (what DNN will consider the root/samelevel/child items)
