Hi,

I hope someone can help with this. I created my skin on my home computer with IE 7. I have a table with background images in some of the table cells. One does not repeat but the other two do. At home everthing works fine and looks great (IE7). When I previewed the skin on my work computer (IE6) the background images are missing. Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Thanks,
Bee

Could you post a link to the page?

Hi,

I made the page temporarily visible to all viewers so I could post a link to it.

link removed...

If you look at my other pages, you will notice some of the images are showing up as red x boxes. I've figured out that it is only images saved as .png that are doing that after we upgraded to the lastest version the other day. The wierdest thing is that the .png images appear normal when logged in as administrator. I don't think the problems are related, because the images missing from my skin are jpg images. I would be interested to know what's going on though.

On the link, you are supposed to be seeing a 800px wide image in the background in the middle. You'll notice that the image at the bottom, which is embedded in the ascx page is showing up fine, but the background ones from the css aren't showing up. I noticed that if you right click there is not even an option to save background. At home with IE 7 the skin looks normal.

On a cursory glance I can see that the background image styles are referencing files on your local pc:

E.g.    background-image: url(file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Owner/My%20Documents/Visual%20Studio%202008/WebSites/COGOPWebsite/Portals/0/Skins/COGOP/images/COGOPTop.jpg);

I'd start troubleshooting there.

Rob

P.s. Youre also going to have to drop that overflow:auto from the left pane.. check the site in Firefox and you'll see.

Rob,

Thanks to your wonderful suggestions I was able to fix everything. It was just as you said. I appreciate the help so much! I am leaving the page visible just a little longer in case you want to check it out. I'm working on a makeover that I'm not ready for the everyone to see yet! By the way, the modules on that page are just some stuff I threw in there to see how my content panes were working out. I don't want anyone to think I'd really put content like that in there LOL!

Thanks for the firefox tip also. I had to fix a couple other things for the firefox browser too. The menu is still a little wierd in firefox but I don't think I can fix that.
