Hey,

I really like the DNN Website, this sites skin. Is it available for download ?

I might be asking a little too much considering the amount of time and effort the guys are already putting into DNN Application. Since DNN is free i was thinking maybe the skin is too.

What I would like is the top part of the site, where search, dropdown menus, then the logo and then the buttons appear. If I wanted to do something like this how do I change my current skin.

Thanks
Vishal

It would be pretty simple to make a copy of the DNN site skin. Just read the documentation on how to make custom skins its in the sticky on this forum. Basic design of the skin is a table based layout with the Search token in the upperleft then the solpartmenu for the dropdown menu, then a logo token and finished off with the buttons which is just a divided table holding images that link to the different pages, which have a hover image set to match / "fill" in the button. Its pretty basic actually.

One thing you will quickly learn with skinning is the more impressive the skin the more simple it really is. You could just about create the whole DNN site skin with about 7 lines of html/ascx code, and some CSS.

As far as I know they don't have the skin listed anywhere for download. *cough* great idea *cough* but I think its cause they want to keep an "original" feel to the DNN site.

Not sure if they would mind or not but I / someone could probably make a copy of the skin and post it somewhere. Just not sure how they would feel about it.

"They" won't be happy if you copy the skin and post it somewhere...
The DNN.com skin is a part of the DNN brand, not part of the Dotnetnuke package itself.
