Okay -- I'm really a novice and I have been given the assignment of working on our company's website.  I have printed off the tutorials (all 600+ pages) and even bought the DotNetNuke for Dummies book (good, but still have questions.)  So here goes -- but I beg you to keep your answer "simple":

1.   Is there a way to keep the menu bar static.  I don't want the menu bar title to have a page associated with it.  I want all pages under that menu bar title (parent) be in the drop down menu.  Is this possible.

2.  Whoever started this website never put in our website name -- it is just a list of numbers.  Can this be changed now?

3.  Is there a way to reduce the size of line spacing?  Even though I reduce the size of the font, the space between the lines is way too much.

I apprecaite any guidance.

Just a few quick pointers:

  1. Go into the page settings for each of those menu items and look for the "Disabled" option.
  2. Go into Admin, Site Settings and add your domain name e.g. www.domain.com as a new alias at the very bottom pf the page. You will of course need to have configured this domains' DNS and IIS settings to lead to your DNN folder.
  3. You can specifiy your line-spacing in CSS. Exactly where and how depends on many things, but as you're getting paid to figure it out, take your time to learn about CSS and then also install and learn to use the essential Firefox Firebug add-on.

And one more: Sort out your backup and restore procedures before going any further - Ignore this at your peril!
