I took the leap to create a custom skin. I uploaded it and it appears in my list of skins. When I preview it, it displays as if the skin.css file didn't exist. When I look at the skin folder in the portal, it is there and in fact when I load the .html files they still look correct obviously using the skin.css file. Any ideas?

I'm sure there are probably a million reasons for this, so if you could give me tips on how to debug/troubleshoot what may be wrong, that would be great!

Thanks!

Wondering about the lack of a response...could it be:

1. I didn't provide enough detail? Didn't want to post the entire skin, so if any guidance from those more experienced than me would be appreciated.

2. No one knows? Seems doubtful from the posts I've read here.

3. There is already an answer in a readily available area around here? If so, please give me a nudge since I obviously missed that resource so far.

Thanks!

I have a feeling the issue is in how you are "linking" to the skin file.  You do not need to link to your css file at all in DotNetNuke if you use some simple naming conventions.

For Example, if your skin name is "SunnyDay" then create a folder inside the skins folder called SunnyDay.  Then create your main skin file with the name SunnyDay.html.  And as you probably guessed by now, simply name your css file SunnyDay.css.  It's pretty straight forward, I hope that helps.

posting a link to an example page does help, these kind of questions are difficult to answer without

Thanks for trying, but it didn't seem to help, although I might have missed something. What's the folder inside the skins folder for? Anyway, I named the skin the same as the css file and that's the same as the zip file. No luck so far.

Thanks again!
