Without reverting to the flash alternative is there a way to add sound to the main menu for when you hover over it?

I want to know which file I need to edit, which line to type in and what to type in it. Also I want to know which sound files are compatible as I have an mp3 file (only a few kB in size its only a short 'blip' sound). I can convert it if required however if its not needed then why waste time.

Any help will be most appriciated.

Thanks

Ricky

Hi Ricky,

To my knowledge, no menu provider supports this functionality out of the box.  Your best approach would likely be some sort of jQuery and Flash integration -- but you would be in largely unexplored territory, so consider this a reasonably sophisticated development task.

Note that many users find sound effects on a webpage to be highly distasteful, so proceed with caution here.

Totally agree, although we have the legendary John Peel's voice on one of our sites (those from the UK will know who he is :)

This is certainly the exception that proves the rule :)

I would love to see that

Kids site, like Dora the explore site has many fun functions on it. Anywhere you click or hover over, you get some kind of action or sound. In some case, sound works.
