Hi all,

My question is - where can I get clear - not too long winded instructions on how to install - and which skinns I can install - I would like to install a bundle of free skinns I can experiment.

Much to my frustration after reading all the recommended documents about skinning I realize that I could probably have a go at building one and maybe it would work. The instructions for building skinns are brilliant! One thing though I'm not interested into building one now I just want to install one - I tried but it doesn't work - do I need to put the files first into the skinns folder under install?

I've looked at the skinns in 3.0.13 - why isn't there an optional release with all the skinns installed - would be so much easier for lots of people new to dnn.

I don't know where to go to download a number of skinns (I'm experimenting with 4.9.2 and 5.0 versions - and would prefere to stick to 4.9.2 as this is the stable version.

Any help will be much appreciated

you may obtain a number of free skins from www.dnnskins.com.

To install a skin, I prefer to enter Host Settings and in Section Appearance use the link "upload skin".

In DNN 5 you may upload Skins in Host :: Extensions.

Yes I tried that and it was telling me that it couldn't find the files (in install/skinns - folder and some desktop folder) do I need to unzip those files to those folders before installing?

Do you know why I can't click onto the videos on this link? Do you use this site? http://www.dnncreative.com/Tutorials/DNNTutorialsforBeginners/HowtoinstallaskininDotNetNuke/tabid/211/Default.aspx

Many thanks for your help

there are some skins, which are packaged inside other zips (with license etc.), in this case you need to unzip the install package. no other action should be necessary.
