Hello. I'm wanting to remove the "you are here" section of the site I'm working on and replace it with the search field. Is that an easy task?

Thanks.

You need to modify the skin.

go to /portals/_default/skins, in folder with skin name open the appropriate .aspx file and remove the dnn:text control, which holds the localizable text.

Sorry. You might have to dumb it down for me. My HTML knowledge is basic.  Am I looking to remove "Src" sections? I can find the sections marked "SEARCH", "SOLPARTMENU", etc. Where would I find what I need?

Thank you.

if you are using default skin, look for "you are here" in the ascx file.

Also, you will want to take out the whole tag / token, not just the src or other attributes. I would strongly suggest that if you are planning on modifying a skin that you have some form of HTML reference as much of the changes you make will be in the HTML / CSS realm when changing the appearance of a skin. You don't have to be a guru but you definitely don't want to go leaving open tags or remove TR/TDs randomly, as that will cause some... unique results. Also, since you're not quite familiar with HTML I would strongly suggest you make sure to make a backup copy of the .ASCX files you're modifying. I usually just copy it and name it skin.ascx.bak or something along those lines.

Good Luck!
