I was thinking about enabling the dropdown for the [SEARCH] skinobject in our skin, but just recognized that even for the official DNN website the dropdown box is misplaced in IE, where the dropdown appears right behind and below the little search icon on the right side.

I only see this in IE6, right?

I can see it in IE6, FF works fine, other browsers I did not test with (and for our office only IE6 is relevant).

Hmm, so your still using the worst browser available... ;-)
(I have to admit Netscape 4 was worse)
As a skinner I really don't like IE6, any skin that seems to work in all browsers never does in IE 6.

Anyway, the problem is only visible in IE6 on DNN 4.9.3, not in any other "modern" browser or newer DNN version.

It does not show up in DNN 5.0.1, so since there will not be any releases of DNN 4, I guess it will not be fixed.

The DNN 4.9.3 skin is a backport of the DNN 5.0.1 skin and I'm not user why this is a problem in DNN 4.9.3 only.

I have to use the worst browser available.. at least here in the office ;-)

You say that it is only DNN 4.9.3 - are you sure about that? I did not test it here, I just saw that the official DNN website running in IE6 was not displaying the search dropwdown correctly and I assumed that the dotnetnuke.com is using the latest DNN version. So is dotnetnuke.com running on 4.9.3 but the 5 version is displaying it correclty?
