 note taken...

basically i was saying that when i define a ContentPane via a class tag I get this err after i parse the skin and click to preview (from the host skin menu)

"The Controls collection cannot be modified because the control contains code blocks (i.e. <% ... %>)"

problem resolves itself if i define it as an id (instead of a class)

 

im running DNN 4.9.0

Ok, sorry, I misread your post.

You should have the ID and you can also add the class, only the class is optional

PROPS! ... is this common practice? to use an ID tad as well as a CLASS?

 

ps the pane is a nice fixed width and looks GREAT!

Yes, you need the id for the framework, but you cannot "trust" the id's value (the system adds something to the ID you assign in the HTML file), so the class is the safe way to go.
