Hi

I need to know how I could add Jquery functionalities to the contents inside a Text/HTML module. I've gone through most of the forums over the last couple of days and exhausted myself trying almost everything.

I'm using DNN v5.0.1, which has Jquery I guess. But I've no idea how I can implement it inside Text/HTML module's content. I tried adding the the script references along with the content to no avail. I read in many places people just added their <script> tags along with the contents of the Text/HTML module. I even tried adding it to the header inside Default.aspx page.

I even tried the approach listed here (click on link), but even though it makes sense, it doesn't work.

I really need to integrate Jquery as my client needs it badly. While going through Accidental Geek's blog (link), he lists out the need to add the following code: DotNetNuke.Framework.jQuery.RequestRegistration() to any module if it needs Jquery.

How do I do that with Text/HTML module? Plz note that I'm relatively new to DNN.

Thanks,

Sunu Sasidharan

In DNN 5.x, if the widget framework is enabled (it is by default) then jQuery is already injected into the page.  If the framework is not enabled then you would need to create your own module or skin object that could be used on a page to execute the RequestRegistration.  All this does is ensure that the jQuery library is added to the page.

Once jQuery is enabled, then you can add jQuery to a text HTML module (you'll need to shift to the Basic Text Box to prevent FCKEditor from messing with your JavaScript).  One alternative is to go to module settings and add the Javascript to module header or footer.

Thanks Joe..I eventually got it working by adding it into the module header. All the time I was trying to add into content part of text/html module. Thanks a lot!
