Has anyone been able to get horizontal menus to work with the latest March 20 build of IE7?  Apparently IE7 is CSS complete.

Hi Ingram

You should probably contact Tim Rolands directly and ask how that's going. Have you had some problems?

I was in your town just a few short weeks ago... small world!

Hi Nina,

Where you here for vacaction or business?

I contacted Tim and he plans to look at it but didnt have any time frame.   It seems like it is a .css change.  If you have IE7 (build March20) latest and go to http://houseofnuke.com/ , you can see how it takes the horizonal menus and turns them into vertical menus.

Seems like there would be a simple IE7 hack that could be added to the .css.

I was there for business.

Well, I don't have IE7, but that seems to me like it's going to need some looking over, but if you've contacted Tim and he's acknowledged it, I'm sure it won't be that long before a fix is out.

Any chance to use Solpart until then?

Hello,

The problem with IE7 and HouseMenu is the hacks that have been used for the other IE Browsers, quite a few of those hacks are no longer compatible, which is why the problems have occurred.

For anyone else, if you have used any CSS hacks in your skins, I would definitely try them out in IE7 so that you can fix them before it is released.

The box model hack is still ok by Tantek Celik but most of the others are no longer ok, such as the * html hack.

If you are interested in IE7 compatibility and CSS, there is an interesting article here: http://www.positioniseverything.net/articles/ie7-dehacker.html

Hope this gives you a starting point for your menus. - I haven't looked at horizontal menus, but I can get a static vertical menu working in IE7 with the HouseMenu.

Thanks,
