I'm trying to use the links module to display links to pages that are on the same level as the current page; i.e.:

top level page

---1st level page

------2nd level page

------2nd level page

------2nd level page

---1st level page

...etc.

So, if you were on a 2nd level page, you could see all the other 2nd level pages (under that specific 1st level page).

However, I don't want to have this for every page of the site, just 2nd level pages. As a skin object, you can define Links such that "same" level pages are automatically linked, but as a skin object, these links will be on every page of the site. Therefore, I have tried to use the links module to do the same thing, but only on the pages I want. This is itself a very imperfect solution, but it would work and I've exhausted so many other routes. Anyways, the options available to the Links skin object are not, as far as I can tell, available to the Links module. Or am I missing something? It seems that the Links module only gives you the option to add links manually, and not generate them dynamically as the skin object can...

Correct, there is no real link between the links SKO and the links Module

Hi Lee

I'll start by saying I don't use the Links module, but from reading your post I would have thought there's two immediate options.

First would be to duplicate the skin and have one with the Links skin object... so you can choose this skin for the pages you do want it to appear.

The second option would be to run a Nav skin object (several can do it) which works on the second level of the navigation.

Hope it helps!

"The second option would be to run a Nav skin object (several can do it) which works on the second level of the navigation."

That would be the ideal solution, but I have no idea how to do it. The NAV object only seems to have the options "root" "child" "parent" or "same." How do you get a menu to show the second level, as if you were on a top level page with a menu using the "child" option (but displaying that partcular child menu for all subpages of that top level page)? I'm guessing it must be a different menu provider (other than the default DNNmenuProvider).
