I have seen issues with DNN and McAfee before, but these where related to the actions menu IIRC

Yes, but even when I disabled everything in McAfee, I still had the problem.

On this page on my live web site which is now a clean install of DNN 5.1.0, I do not notice issues with the menu, but I do still notice issues with the min/max function:  http://www.dnnstyle.com/tranquility3/Containers/Set1.aspx.  The containers collapse and expand much slower in IE8.  It could be attributed to some type of smoother animation in IE8 that IE7 doesn't do, but when you compare the timing with the min/max on another page with quite a few less modules, the timing is significantly less:  http://www.dnnstyle.com/tranquility3/Home.aspx.  So, at least on my computer, I see a significant difference in IE8 alone when comparing the min/mix times from one page to another, and I see a significant difference in the timing between IE8 and IE7 on each page individually.  I didn't test with as many modules as before to see if the menu response is still an issue for me.   Is it just my computer or does anyone else notice this?  Or could it just be my video card performance or something like that?

Rick, testing your pages I don't really notice a difference in IE8, except when other containers need to be relocated.

Exactly my point.  It's only in IE8.  My question is, is the problem with DNN's code that controls these functions, does it need to be tweaked so it runs more efficiently without performance issues in IE8, or is this a problem with IE8 itself not efficiently handling the rendering and re-rendering of the page when some type of javascript is activated?  If the same thing were happening in all versions of IE and happening in other browsers like FF as well, then I'd say it's definitely DNN, but that's not the case.  It's only IE8.  It could still possibly be something DNN could find a fix or work around to eliminate, unless IE8 is just too fundamentally flawed to make that possible, which considering it is IE, could very likely also be true.  Anyway, it's just interesting, certainly not life threatening and doesn't change my devotion to DNN which is by far a truly amazing platform.  I'd just like to see it working at full speed in all browsers and modes regardless of the content on the page, and I'm sure everyone else would agree, especially looking at the statistics for people moving to IE8 as their main browser, that continues to be the trend.
