Hi,

We created a custom skin using default skin template provided via starter kit using VS2008.But we were not able to view the skin created in the dropdown in page settings for both "Host" and "Radio" button options. How do we view the skn created in the dropdown? Can anyone let us know?

Since we were not able to see the custom skin created, we used the files created through skin template, zipped it,created a package and installed via "Extensions" in admin.Everything worked fine except the image icon for Sub Menu(Site settings,Extensions,FileManager,Pages,Languages, etc) under "Admin" and "Host" were not loaded. It shows a  cross mark. (We tried uploading a image from site but there was a space between the image icon and name of the sub menu and the formatiing was not proper). We tried to figure out the issue but was not successful. Can anyone please tell what is wrong?

Appreciate any immediate response. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sri

There are actually two posts regarding this already, this makes three.  As in the other posts, this is a known issue for DNN 5.00.00 and 5.00.01.  The full install package of DNN 5.1.0 repaired this, but the upgrade package did not.  I'm assuming the next upgrade package will include the fix.  Until then, the icon links for host and admin are broken/not properly formed.  If you don't want to wait, the only fix I'm aware of is to set the icon css class in the skin.css file to be "display: none;" and that will cause the images to not display and get rid of the IE red x's.  However, it doesn't fix any 404 errors generated because the images can't be found.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your response. You have mentioned that the full install package of DNN 5.1.0 repaired it, we purchased the professional edition DNN 5.1 . So this fix must be in the package right? But there were some issues with the release of DNN 5.1 and it was released again after some fixes(is this what you mean to say by upgrade package which did not have the fix?) . Please clarify.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sri

I was talking about the community edition only.  The professional edition was released sooner and most likely didn't have that issue fixed.  I believe that it would be fixed in the next update to the professional edition as well.  If you have the professional edition, you should be able to contact support directly about any issues with the pro edition, but I have not been a party in professional edition support so I can't say how that process works or how you go about contacting them.  It may be a good idea to contact support to let them know that the issue was in the professional edition release of 5.1 just to make sure they are aware.
