Hello everybody,

I manage a web site and ask me to place a video, I want to know which module can I use to put it?

There are a lot of options here.  Free is possible too depending on your skill set.  If you have access to Adobe Flash CS3 or higher, convert the video to an FLV using the Flash converter.  Then use the Flash Pro wizard to create a player for it.  Then you can use a plain HTML module to display it.  As a nice touch you could also look in to using swfobject.  Though not a DNN site, you can see a sample of this process here (click on the thumbnail to the right of "Fouth Community Meeting."

Another cool DIY option is to use Longtail's excellent JW Player - again in an HTML module.  Note that the JW Player needs a paid license in some situations.  This was an intermediate level setup with excellent results which you can see here.

If the above seems complicated, then Ultra Video Gallery (search on SnowCovered) is a decent option though the feature set borders on extreme overkill if you just need to display a single video.  Here is an example of that module.

However, if it's already hosted by a 3rd party like YouTube, Vimeo, etc. It's as simple as copying in the embed code to the Text/HTML module in the 'source' view.

For some customers, I actually reccomend this way as it's easier on the site host (less storage and less bandwidth). Youtube also has a pretty slick custom player option which lets you define frame colors, playlists, etc.  If you're going for HD, I'd reccomend Vimeo as they have the best quality I've seen, and a good source-file policy.

Good Luck!
