Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to make the entire Menu Bar (including the search box) only viewable to the administrator role in 5.01.00 Community Edition.

Thanks in advance

if you have done some skinning then you can do easily

Open to your skin file and create a pane for your menu and put menu object (<dnn:NAV runat="server" id="dnnNAV"  ProviderName="DNNMenuNavigationProvider" IndicateChildren="false" ControlOrientation="Horizontal" CSSControl="mainMenu" />) into this pane.

After that login to your site with host account and assign roles who can see this by going into setting section of this pane.

A faster way is to include if condition on your skin template like this

<% If DotNetNuke.Security.PortalSecurity.IsInRoles("Administrators") Then %>
             Dotnetnuke nav goes here
<% End if %>

The menu will only be displayed if the current user has the administrator role on it.

Hope this help

If you deal with ASP language before, you will find a lot of that kind of style. Combining codes with front end.
Lucky we got ASP.Net that separate the codes from front and back end.
But this style is good to use at least for quick fast solution.
