I have several portals that I need localize a skin to (meaning I do not want the other portals to be able to pick another’s skin). Whenever I add a skin to the DNN installation it’s available to all the portals. Is there a way to limit skin designs to specific portals?

Login as host and install the skin from Admin > skins

Timo,

You misinterpreted the question.

The OP wants to install the skin at the Host level but mark it "premium" like a module to limit which portals can use that skin.

Actually, the advice is pretty on-target.  Skins installed via Admin->Skins (as opposed to Host->Skins) will only be available for the current site; conversely, a host-installed skin is available for everyone.  

There does not exist a UI to "assign" skins between portals (in the same manner as one might manage premium modules), but skins may be installed multiple times to allow access for arbitrary sets of sites.

Finally, the UI has changed a bit for the 5.x versions; here, skins are installed just as any other extension, and may be uploaded via the Extensions menu option.

When I log in as an admin and got to admin > skins I do not see a place to upload a skin like when I'm logged in as a host.  I'm I missing something, or does the admin upload a skin differntly than a host does?  Thanks.
