Good day everyone,

Am using DotNetNuke Community Edition 05.01.04, Windows XP SP 2, SQL Express 2005

I have used the DNNMenuNavigationProvider  to create a VERTICAL menu (vertical orientation)  on the left pane of my site. Evrything works well in FireFox, Chrome, < IE7. My problem is that on IE8 in any mode the submenus(or flyouts) do not display/show. I thought it was my skin/css and downloaded the beautiful Cash 02 skin (http://osdnnskins.codeplex.com/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=25514) which has a vertical menu with flyouts. Anyone wishing to repro can download it or simply add the following in their skin and test on IE8, with or without custom attributes

                            <dnn:NAV runat="server" id="NAV2" ProviderName="DNNMenuNavigationProvider" CSSControl="mainMenu"  ControlOrientation="Vertical">
                                            <CustomAttributes>
                                              <dnn:CustomAttribute Name="AnimationType" Value="Slide" />
                                              <dnn:CustomAttribute Name="EasingType" Value="Sine" />
                                              <dnn:CustomAttribute Name="EasingDirection" Value="In" />
                                              <dnn:CustomAttribute Name="AnimationLength" Value="1" />
                                              <dnn:CustomAttribute Name="AnimationInterval" Value="3" />
                                              <dnn:CustomAttribute Name="RenderMode" Value="Normal" />
                                            </CustomAttributes>
                                        </dnn:NAV>

Is this a known issue on IE8 or am I missing something ?? I can post my mainMenu CSS if required

FYI a fllyout looks like this  http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/example_flyout.html.

You could try removing the custom attributes.  If that doesn't help, then it is most likely an issue with the css.  I've used dnn nav with vertical menus in ie7 and ie8 without issues, but was not using any of the custom attributes.  99.99% of problems with a menu not working correctly are css errors.
