Hi All --

I'm yet to get through "DNN Skin development steep learning curve"  (so far I do use one of commerical skins), and I currently get my customer looking for a graphics professional to develop a (set of) .PNG files for this customer web site. The next task will be to "cut"/convert .png file into DNN skin(s). Not sure that graphics professional will do that by themselves as DNN is not yet so popular here so my questions are:

- 1) Should I limit the graphics profie's imagination somehow (because of some DNN skins limitations(?)) while they will be developing the graphic design of my customer web site? In my current understanding DNN web sites can have any graphic design but for some of them special custom "skin objects" will have to be developed. I haven't yet even had time to look at "skin objects" but I have got quite some good understading/prctice of custom modules development - is custom "skin objects" development very similar to custom modules development?

- 2) I have seen some online services to convert PNG files into custom skins - what are the most reliable services like that on your experience? What are the usual costs of converting .PNG into DNN skin if there will be no need to develop custom "skin objects"?

Yes, I know there is a Skinning Guide here http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Support/Documentation/DownloadableFiles/tabid/478/Default.aspx, and I will definitely read through it, and other sources but currently I just wanted to get some quick introduction to the subject based on your experience...

Thank you.

HI

There isnt a design you cannot covnert over to a dnn portal just depends on the time you want pu put in it.

A skinobject is just simple usercontrolcoding so if you can do modules you can do skinobjects no issues there..

If I get a skin conversion request I look at the skin and if its grid based design I convince my clients to go with the dnngrid960 system for easier maintainabillity else I will di it full custom.

Regardign your question related to price, there is no set price. If you can send me your design I can let you know how much I would charge for it
