Hey Everyone.  I'm new to DNN development but am an experienced developer.  I was trying to adjust the token value for the ForceDownLevel parameter of the NAV skinobject.  The values for selection were in a DropDownList and were as follows: <Not Specified>, True, False.  First, I change it to True.  Everything was fine.  Then I changed it to <Not Specified> and the site basically blew up with a Conversion from type String "" to Boolean is not valid error.  It gave me a link to "Return to site" but that does nothing.  The whole site is down, I'm dead in the water.  I thought maybe a boolean value got set to an empty string in an xml config file somewhere, but couldn't find anything.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might fix this and/or why it is happening?  Please advise.  Thank You!!

Where exactly where you making this adjustment? Through the browser's edit module interface?

You might need to find the skin files /portals/_default/skins or possibly /portals/#/skins (where # is the ID of your portal, 0 is the first one). You can likely edit the files from the file system directly.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the response.  I edited the value via the browser on the Admin>Skins page, at the bottom where you can select token values and edit them.  I did try digging through the files on portals/_default and portals/# in the skins directory, but didn't see anything that stood out.  I also went looking through the log file that was on my control panel to verify the error, but at first glance couldn't decipher a line number in the code where the error might be occuring.

Any ideas?

Thank You again.

Joe

Ahhh in the skin object settings, I honestly don't know where those are stored, but likely in the database.

I did a quick scan and wasn't able to find which table, I'll keep digging.

Try checking in admin/skins or desktopmodules/admin/skins for this file. It looks like those files get rewritten when you make a change (thanks to Nik Kalyani for telling me that)
