For the DNN Main Nav Menu (top menu), I want to display the root level and its children but nothing below that.
Then allow the RadPanelBar Left Menu expand to show all levels

For the DNN Nav, all I am able to do is either not show any children  - or the menu just expands to display whatever levels there are

Please help!

Root Item 1
...Child1 of Root Item 1 (show this level)
...Child2 of Root Item 1 (show this level)
......Child 1 of Child 2 of Root Item 1 (do not expand/show this level)

I am not aware of DNNMenu support this specific feature. You can also use DNNRadMenu for the horizontal menu as well. Take a look at their skinning API and see if you can set the level of the navigation to accomplish what you want. The worst case scenarios is to hide those menu items visually using CSS if you don't want write your own control.

Got it!

The following parameters on the DNN Nav control will do it:

PopulateNodesFromClient="false"
ExpandDepth="2"
