Hi Everyone,

Please let me know if I’ve posted in the wrong forum and I’ll direct this question there…

I’m not familiar with how to create a custom menu in DotNetNuke but was wondering if any of you know of a different way menus could be layed out in a tab / submenu fashion that would allow all top-level navigation to appear as tabs across the top of the web page while second level navigation appears for all child-pages.

For example, if you're given the following menu structure hierarchy:
    Home
    About
        Locations
        Contact Us
        History
    Members
        Calendar
        Forums
        Newsletter
        Chat
    Directors
        Forums
        Shared Files
        Calendar
        Email List
        Member DB
        Tech
            Laptops
            Mobile Phones
    Help
        Signing Up
        Contact Us

Can it be layed out in the following way (this is crude, but I'll try using a table here since I can't upload a PDF):

Chris,

If you're creating the skins yourself, you can achieve this using 2 [NAV] menu items. There's a good example here by Timo Design: http://dnnskinextensions.codeplex.com.... You can look at the .ascx file code to see how it's achieved.

The above option will create the sub menus based on the pages you create in the CMS automatically, but you can also achieve the same thing manually by using a links module, which you can show on the specific root page and relevant child pages.

These are 2 options but there are other ways as well, so if the above isn't working let us know and we'll advise on the other ones.

Hope this helps,

Rick.

Thanks Rick,

I'll have to give that a try.
