I'm trying to customize my DNNNavigationProvider menu to add a <TD> or similar to separate between the root menu icon and the menu text so i can align them properly.

Is there any help that you can provide me? I can't seem to do any CSS tricks to get this to work and have no clue what file (if any) controls the layout of the nav menu.

See sample of what i have going here:

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't think that you can inject HTML into the default DNN menu.  However, you can with other menus.  Regardless, I would strongly caution you to not use table elements in navigation - but that's a whole new conversation.

If you're looking for more flexibility, I would suggest the DNNGarden menu.

Thanks,
I understand the problems with using tables, so if that's the case...
Are there CSS properties that can separate the text elements in a menu from the icon?

I've been able to use the .icn property, but it seems like i can't get the text to align properly.

I am certain that there are.  Have you tried using Firebug, or a similar tool to determine what those CSS selectors should be?

Have you attempted targeting .icn .txt ? I haven't played around too much with that particular selector, so I'm not sure if it even has a .txt inside of it like the other nav elements. Hopefully some time spent w/ Firebug will help you pick it out.
