yes, a pane is an area where modules can be injected. Skins must contain one called ContentPane, but after that can add as many as they like -it's recommended you use DIV's for panes (better xhtml complaince), though some skins use table elements instead.

Yes, I'm catching on, but for another related question.

I've installed my new skin and used the text editor to add some temporary text(using the text editor), just in case someone stumbles on the site. Now I want to get rid of the Dot Net Community logo and leave the pane intact just in case it will provide for a separation between the top of the page and the nav bar.

I would like to also know how I can add my logo to the nav bar. That would teach me to add buttons also. Hopefully? I will be adding a button for "New Order" and use jQuery form. And that temporary text I added will be replaced(after login) with dynamically created jQuery accordions that will display the logged in users "Orders".

After learning the above the site is ready for me to hire a developer to make a module that create the dynamic nature of the orders and some logic to accomplish several things.

Thanks

Vic

the logo is the injected via the LOGO skin object, remove it and it's gone (though you can also specify the logo through Admin->Site settings->Appearance->Logo). The NAV bar is a menu and is driven off pages so it's not really where you would place a button - i'd be inclined to add it directly to the skin.

Now, I think I'm an idiot, if you noticed when you rolled over the logo it said Handoff etc. because I added it through Admin>site settings, but failed to expand Appearance.

Thanks
