I've been trying to upload an update to  a skin I designed a while ago. For some reason I keep getting a curiously unspecific error message:

Error loading files from temporary folder - see below
StartJob Starting Installation
Info Starting Installation - FSSkinPack
Failure Package Installation aborted - FSSkinPack
Failure Package Installation aborted
Info Installation Failed - FSSkinPack
Info Deleted temporary install folder
EndJob Installation Failed

I've checked my package and the files all seem to be there. The .dnn manifest seems to be in order as well. Anyone know what might be the issue?

Regards

Colin Moser

often when i see an error like this it's a simple packaging error i.e the zip file contains a folder which contains the files, hence the files are never installed. I recommend you uninstall the zip and ensure that the file relative folder locations are correct.

That's the strange thing--as far as I can tell I'm packaging this thing just like I'm supposed to. I've uploaded several versions of this skin before without any problems. It's been several months since my last update, but all I did to it this time around was change a line in the CSS and update the version number in the .dnn file. Everything's packaged in the normal way for DNN 5--everything together with a .dnn manifest, and images in their own folder. Could the client have done something to the site settings to make extension uploading work strangely? I'm trying to figure out what questions to ask.

Does it install on a local fresh install of DNN?

Wow, great question. I checked on another installation: The package installs fine there, so it must be something to do with this specific site.
