Had similar problem except my border was the same colour so it wasn't as noticable.

 in particular the 3rd and 5th posts should answer your question.

Maybe in the next release, Jon may fix it.
I think the code to comment out is to do with the non css related attributes of  the menu. And in my case improves the menu. But from memory I don't think the MenuBorder attribute works anyway?
