Hi all,

I want to get in to skinning. It's been a while since I last designed a skin, the last one i did was for DNN3.x So much has now changed and I figured I would start by looking at the MinimalExtropy skin. however opening the folder up reveals a lot of files. I just don't know where to start and how all the files link together and what I need to edit.

I like some of the functions of this skin, like the sizing options and the font size options. However if I wanted to modify things like font colour, layout etc I wouldn't know what files i need to edit.

Can someone help me out please. I have looked through various help topics on here but most of them start from a basic skin without some of the functions of the default skin.

Thanks.

If you want to change the styles, edit the skin.css file in the package.

You may also want to look at www.DNNCreative.com as they have an excellent video series on Skinning that will help.   Well worth it .. also a lot of other good videos.

Also, take a look at the skins from the recent skinning contest.  Lots of good examples to "play" with..

Hope this help,
Paul.

I would also recommend checking out my Skinning 101 series on my DotNetNuke blog.

Thanks fo the info, this give me a bit more to go on.I must admit I find it easier seeing an already created skin and then playing with that. I find this method easier to learn from. No doubt once I have a grasp the blog post from Joe will be a big help.
