I have a site dnn5 that I have uploaded 4 separate skins (essentially the same skin with a different name and with different containers) to. The vertical menu colours and artwork is missing although the text part of the menu is there.

I placed 4 text modules on the 1st page to check the containers. However, it is refusing to show a different container to that set in admin/skins even though the correct container has been chosen for the module. Never had this issue with dnn4.

I even tried setting the container in admin/skins to 'not specified'. It refuses to accept this setting and places the container that comes with that particular skin variant after saving.

Any solutions please.

Thanks

I would check if the 4 skins are loading correct style sheets and that the css is not cross referenced.
If the skins were created by copying and stylesheets are referenced in the code than you could be loading more than one css file those having unexpected results. Try one skin at a time and check results, the same goes for containers.

Thanks for replying..

I will look at what you suggest.

I created extra pages to test whether each skin could be used on its own page and it worked. Selecting a different skin on Page setting allowed me to have the container that works with that skin.

So now I have 4 pages that all look different (as I wanted them to be).

It seems that the 'default skin' takes precedence when selected at skin level in admin. I did try to select the default minimal extropy container and that failed too.

Just seems odd as this has never happened before.

I have also noticed that the Copywrite information refuses to update either.

Has anyone else had this problem???? (I did try a 'restart application' but that made no difference).

Cheers
