I have tried to edited a portal on our site that currently won't load any of its pages, throwing the page load exception- object not set to a reference. I have recently up graded to DNN 5.06 from 4.9 which is when this error started. I have checked the containers css, and ascx files. They all look correct.  I also have switched to different containers but the error still there. The entire portal has this problem and i can figure out why.

also the search isn't working.

Please Help!

does the same issue persist with default SKIN and Container applied? do you have a module with "display on all pages" set?

Where would I look for this setting?  Also in the default container folder theres a No Containers.ascx - file. All of my other containers are currently working fine, aside from the search feature not functioning.

you may alter default container and skin used for the whole site in Admin :: Site Settings.

I did notice that the two skins that are working have more code in them than the one that didn't. was a problem with the container file. I have three container designs. My design Blank.ascx  for this page type was missing some code. So i just copied the design from the working portals and the pages loaded no problem.

thanks again for the help
