Dear All,

By default, the title displayed on top of any browser when you open your dotnetnuke site is in this format: Site title > Page Title. If I want to change it to: Site title | Pgage title, how and where to do that?

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,

If you go into the Settings for a page, there's a Page Title input box. Whatever you put in here will display in the title bar.

Rick.

No, that's different from what I'm asking. Like for this site, title is displayed like this: Thread Title - Eindows Internet Explorer.

if I want to replace - with |, how to do that? replae >?

I mean to ask how to replace the "@gt" (which is equal to >) or - which acts as the separator between site title and page title? I need to get them replaced by "|" mark.

Thanks.

The ">" separator character is hardcoded in default.aspx.vb:

' set page title

Dim strTitle As String = PortalSettings.PortalName

For Each objTab In PortalSettings.ActiveTab.BreadCrumbs

strTitle += String.Concat(" > ", objTab.TabName)

Next

' tab title override

If Not String.IsNullOrEmpty(PortalSettings.ActiveTab.Title) Then

strTitle = PortalSettings.ActiveTab.Title

End If

Title = strTitle

Note in the above code that as Rick indicated, whatever you set for the page Title (in the page's settings) will override the title that is built from the tab names of each breadcrumbs item.

It is also possible to set the page title to a custom value from within module code - I recall doing so in the latest Gallery module 4.03.03 RC.
